England - North York Moors

We wandered around the estate on which the Gisborough Priory once sat. Centuries after the priory was destroyed, Priory Gardens and a Woodland Walk were developed incorporating the monastic ruins. Just outside the garden is a restored circular dovecote, seen here through the ruined arches, which dates back to the 1300s. Its slate roof was added in the 1700s.
